Everyone.....get into Amanda Lear! She was a french Disco Queen in the late 70's/early 80's and was a HUGE star in Europe! Recording 15 studio albums during her career, she sold over 15 million records and 30 million 12" singles! She was originally a fashion model in the 60's, was photographed by Helmut Newton, walked the catwalk for Chanel, YSL, Paco Rabanne and Mary Quant, hung out and partied with Twiggy, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, dated David Bowie and Roxy Music's Bryan Ferry, and was Salvador Dali's muse. Wanna know another interesting little fact about Amanda Lear? It's been widely speculated that she is, in fact....transgendered! Word!! Now, she has never confirmed this one way or the other...which is fabulous! It's not really anyone's business.......and questionable gender is always a good thing!

She released a nearly endless selection of Eurodisco dance tracks with kitschy titles like "Diamonds", "Blood and Honey", "Nymphomania", "Fashion Pack (Studio 54)" , "Never Trust A Pretty Face" and "Love Amnesia". It is quite apparent that the look and vibe of Madonna's 2005 album "Confessions on a Dancefloor" was very much inspired by the sequin clad Miss Lear.
